About

Located just steps from Waterloo Station and a short stroll from the South Bank, Azzurro Italian Bar & Kitchen offers a relaxed setting for private dining in central London. Whether you’re planning a team lunch, a birthday celebration or a family get-together, this welcoming Italian restaurant caters for every occasion.

Azzurro features a variety of spaces, including a stylish mezzanine, a sun-drenched terrace with a wooden pergola and a characterful underground dining room. The latter is a particularly unique setting, tucked beneath a curved brick ceiling with wooden floors, framed artwork and long banquet tables — ideal for private group dinners or informal events. The main restaurant is light and bright with whitewashed brick and wooden panelling on the walls.

The menu celebrates traditional Italian cooking, with fresh, handmade dishes prepared to order. Starters include crisp calamari with lemon aioli, golden arancini filled with gooey cheese, vibrant bruschetta topped with tomatoes and basil and classic caprese salad.

For mains, guests can enjoy hearty pasta dishes such as penne arrabbiata, tagliatelle funghi and traditional lasagne. Meat lovers will appreciate the Tuscan beef stew, while pizza fans can choose from crowd-pleasers like Margherita, pepperoni, or a goat’s cheese with caramelised red onions

There’s also a dedicated burger section, sides including halloumi salad and seasonal vegetables and indulgent desserts such as tiramisu, chocolate fondant and profiteroles. A well-stocked bar offers cocktails, mocktails, wine, beer and cider

Azzurro is great value for money too and offers two-for-one deals available on starters, mains and desserts. With a central location, welcoming service and flexible spaces, Azzurro Waterloo is a fantastic choice for group dining on a sun-drenched Aperol on the terrace.

The restaurant has a vibrant atmosphere and was busy on a Wednesday evening. Service was efficient. i ordered a Pizza Marinera and my wife a Salmon Risotto. The amount of seafod on both was fairly meagre. Ithink for the prices charged there is better value to be had at other Pizza/Pasta chains.

Early lunch at Azzuro sitting at an outside table overlooking the busy junction but pleasant enough. Starter bruschetta was poor but main pasta was tasty and cooked just right. Bottle of rose was really nice. Quite a good option for an informal occasion.

A warm welcome started our lovely dining experience. The staff are friendly, delightful ambience, away from the South Bank crowds, excellent service and delicious food, nothing too much trouble. The staff are jovial and serve with a smile!
