Based in the beautiful Clifton Village in Bristol, Amoeba is a cosy lounge bar offering a fantastic selection of beers and cocktails, all in an atmosphere which feels as relaxed as sitting in someone’s living room. Tucked away on King’s Road, Amoeba is based over three floors and also benefits from a small terrace area. This means that regardless of the size of your group or the occasion, Amoeba is a brilliant place to come with your friends to enjoy a a few drinks.
You wouldn’t know from the outside quite how much space there is inside Amoeba but once you’re through the door you’re greeted with a maze of different rooms, all decorated in red and warmly lit. One thing that Amoeba certainly isn’t short of is cosy corners with cosy armchairs a plenty. The walls are decorated with a number of mirrors and framed pictures and the drinks menu is written up on a big blackboard.
The most impressive thing about Amoeba is certainly the lengthy drinks list which has a particular focus on cocktails. The huge variety of cocktail options ranges from classics such as an Aperol spritz and a daiquiri, to original cocktails such as a penicillin (monkey shoulder scotch, fresh ginger, lemon juice and honey) and a Pitu perfect (Pitu Cachaça, lime juice, rhubarb liqueur and honey). Whereas non-alcoholic cocktails include a Thai mockery (root ginger, apple juice, lychee juice, lime juice and lemongrass and ginger cordial). There is also a happy hour deal until 9pm every night, where you can get two of any cocktail for just £13.
An equally amazing beer menu includes flavoured beers such as banana bread and cherry, as well as lagers, ales, and IPAs from all over the world. The menu is finished with a selection of vegan, gluten free and non-alcoholic beers meaning that there’s something for everyone at Amoeba.
