Located in the heart of Old Windsor, Amchur is a restaurant that captures two incredible cultures, India and Nepal. The Amchur team have plenty of experience in hospitality and travel, and are well experienced to bring authentic flavours to the table, reimagined for today’s diner.
Named after the vibrant, tangy mango powder you'll find in Indian kitchens, Amchur takes inspiration from across the continent, from India’s rich, comforting butter chicken to Nepal’s beloved momo and fiery choila. Vegetarians are well looked after here, with a plant-based menu that celebrates the same bold traditions, packed with flavour. At the heart of Amchur, you’ll stumble across the Mustang Bar — a friendly spot with a long list of curated wines, whiskeys, craft gins, cocktails, and alcohol free options, all chosen to complement the menu.
First up are the small plates, including mildly spiced onion bhaji fritters, delicious chilli paneer with fresh coriander and tender chicken tikka pieces marinated in ginger, garlic, spices, yoghurt and lime juice. There's also a non veg platter for two, chicken manchurian with a thick and flavourful sauce, and samosa chat with mint chutney. The restaurant's signature dishes are well worth your consideration, as they'll give you a great taste of what Amchur is all about. Choose from the popular Nepalese fish curry, a maccha ko jhol, cooked in Himalayan spices and herbs, the creamy amchur chicken with a touch of mango, and paneer labab dar, made with cashew nuts and watermelon seeds.
You'll find classic curries and mains on the menu, too, like butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, Thai green curry, and much more. Traditional dishes include a lamb vindaloo, prawn korma and chicken dhansak. Plus, there are a range of dishes from the clay oven, biryanis, and a long list of accompanying sides. Finish off a great meal at Amchur with homemade rice pudding with caramelised mango, or the popular Indian carrot pudding of gajur ka halwa.
