Afternoon tea is all about finery and luxury - sipping tea, nibbling on sandwiches, and indulging in mini cakes and sweet treats. Well, afternoon tea at Jacques is here to provide you with exactly what you're looking for.
On warmer days, Jacques' terrace is a tranquil oasis to soak up the sunshine and enjoy an afternoon catch up with friends over tea and cake. In the colder months, Jacques' sumptous restaurant is a great backdrop for every special occasion, and the afternoon tea menu is really the cherry on top of the finest of cakes.
First up is the hot drink and with nine different types of tea to choose from, Jacques really spoils its guests for choice. From simple, full-bodied teas such as classic English breakfast or the Jacques' afternoon blend, to the floral earl grey and luxurious Japanese sencha green tea, there is a beverage for every taste. However, if you don't fancy a cup of tea, there's also fresh coffee to go around.
For special occasions, or if you just fancy spritzing up your afternoon tea experience, you can also add an alcoholic beverage. Go for a glass of fizz and lavish in some Champagne, or add an afternoon cocktail or gin and tonic.
Starting off with an amuse-bouche of cream and strawberry cornets, you'll then get to dine on delicate finger sandwiches with fillings including cheddar and chutney; smoked salmon; cucumber and cream cheese; chicken with a tarragon and caper mayonnaise; and truffle egg mayonnaise.
After the savoury selection, you can indulge in all of the sweet treats. These include light, fluffy cakes and slices; delicate, creamy pastries filled with vanilla and tart cherries; and exotic meringue tarts, all served alongside the traditional scone. You'll recieve a range of freshly baked scones served with thick clotted cream and strawberry jam.
