In the heart of Covent Garden, ADOH! introduces a vibrant new take on Sri Lankan street food, brought to life by Eroshan and Aushi Meewella, the duo behind Kolamba and Kolamba East. Taking inspiration from the fast-paced, flavour-packed dishes served at roadside eateries across Sri Lanka, the restaurant offers a casual, energetic dining experience with a menu designed for comfort, speed and bold taste.
The name, taken from a Sri Lankan exclamation used in surprise or greeting, sets the tone for the space. It is lively, expressive and rooted in nostalgia. Designed by Whitebox London with input from Sri Lankan artists and designers, the interiors mix raw industrial elements with sun-faded colours and retro textures. Stainless steel, corrugated metal and utilitarian furniture give it a stripped-back feel, while layers of warmth and cultural references add depth and personality. The space seats 70 inside, with a few extra covers available on a small outdoor terrace.
The menu centres on kothu, a chopped roti dish cooked on a hot grill with vegetables, eggs and curry sauce. ADOH! offers four versions (crab, chicken, mutton and jackfruit) each packed with spice and served in the fast, clattering style found in Sri Lanka’s night markets. Alongside these are street food favourites such as mutton rolls, chilli prawn toast with tamarind, devilled sausages and savoury lentil doughnuts served with a trio of chutneys. A fried chicken and curry leaf waffle adds a personal touch, inspired by Aushi’s own childhood meals.
To finish, a salted jaggery soft serve offers a playful nod to traditional island flavours, while drinks include draught beer, cocktails and familiar fruit juices. ADOH! brings a new rhythm to Covent Garden, one that is loud, fast, generous and full of spice, resulting in a welcome and exciting addition to one of London’s premier dining areas.
