Acre is a restaurant and delicatessen from famed influencer chef Thomas Straker, joining Straker's as the chef's second site in Notting Hill. In fact, you’ll find Acre just a few doors down from its older sibling on Golborne Road.
Acre is more relaxed than Straker’s - although it operates as a casual restaurant, it also has a delicatessen where you can buy produce. Straker himself describes Acre as ‘all about simple, quality cooking and putting seasonal ingredients on a pedestal.’ In that regard, it more resembles the sort of simple, seasonal food that made him famous on Instagram.
Dishes on the menu at the time of writing include chicken broth with brown rice, escarole and dill, cod with asparagus, courgette and crème fraîche, squid tagliolini with chilli and lemon, sea bream with pickled cucumber and horseradish, and a chilli cheese smash burger, which doubtless we’ll see a lot of on social media.
Acre also differs from Straker's in that it serves a breakfast menu, which looks to include everything from granola with fresh berries, to fried eggs with hash browns, scrambled eggs on toast, Turkish eggs, and smoked salmon with pickles.
Straker's is hugely popular, in part thanks to the chef's huge following, but also thanks to rave reviews. Expect Acre to be similarly popular with Notting Hill locals as well as a broader London foodie crowd.
