SquareMeal Review of
The Three Tuns Marlborough
With the closure of The Cross Keys at the other end of Great Bedwyn, locals are relieved that The Three Tuns has seized the opportunity and raised its game. Friendly, welcoming service fits with the village pub atmosphere and nicely lived-in setting – neither too fancy nor too low key. A blackboard bar menu of homemade snacks, burgers, children’s grub and de rigueur Sunday lunch keeps local trade brisk and is complemented by a daily-changing menu that might have half a pint of prawns or crispy fried chicken and kimchi followed by breaded scampi with hand-cut chips or a push-the-boat-out sea bass with chorizo-braised butter beans and spinach. It’s all done to a good standard, and well-kept beer and a nice range of spirits shows there’s soul in the front-of-house as well as in the kitchen.
