The front terrace of this handsome boozer could well be in the running for a Britain in Bloom award, so abundant are its well-tended floral displays. On balmy evenings, the crowds spill out onto
the pavement, armed with trays of liquid refreshment. A couple of seasonal ales are always on tap, but this is Notting Hill, so you’ll also find an extensive wine list, including a range of
‘natural’ reds from France. Inside, the airy bar gives way to a cosy raised dining room with a Gallic-influenced menu touting the likes of salt-cod brandade or sautéed kidneys with bacon.
Unfortunately, reports of long waits for food suggest the kitchen may be stretching itself too far. Stick to the drinks and bar snacks and you won’t be disappointed.

Food is good restaurant quality, well presented with table service. Most come here to eat. Fantastic local pub

This is a great pub for drinks – not for food. The food is good…but not good enough to take away the headache you'll get from trying to order it. The incompetence of the kitchen and wait-staff is just fascinating. The kitchen seems to be open for 1 hr 2x per day and when it does open it is so easily overwhelmed that a 45 minute wait for a soup is considered good. “I’m in no hurry” you say? Unfortunately, orders are often incomplete, wrong or simply disappear. By the time you argue with the wait-staff about it the kitchen could very well be closed. If they are really overwhelmed sometimes the put the kitchen “on hold” – ON WHAT?!?!?! If you do complain (or mock them) you will surely experience a healthy helping of attitude from not only the wait-staff but also the MANAGEMENT!!! Just last weekend I enquired of my American waitress no less about the status of my order and she responded with “good food waits.” She was less than amused when I told her I didn’t wait this long at Gordon Ramsey’s restaurant in Claridges. The attitude, the ineptitude and the lack of self-insight generally keeps me away from this place.
