SquareMeal Review of The Angelic

Mercifully tending to those atoning for their sins after a particularly heavy night, this relaxed, airy pub dispenses freshly squeezed juices from a dedicated juice bar at the weekend. If it’s something stronger you’re after, peruse the healthy selection on tap, including Birra Moretti, Bulmers cider & cask ales such as Doom Bar & Sharp’s IPA, as well as Duvel & Tiger in bottles & a wine list that plays it safe with both grapes & prices. Take a squashy sofa downstairs for a small bite (Lincolnshire Poacher Welsh rarebit, say, or smoked haddock croquettes), or head for the slightly more formal first-floor dining room for pub food with a hint of posh (wild garlic & pork sausages with champ mash & cavolo nero), under a ‘Sistine Chapel’ ceiling.

I was amazed by the food and service we received at the Angelic last night. Busy Bar when we went in, we got took to a table. The service from a small girl was of the highest level for a gastro pub like this. They even gave us some free tapas with the Rioja we were drinking. The Food was amazing! i had the Sausage on crushed new potatoes and my Girl Friend had the Pulled Pork with dumplings. Both where amazing but next time i'm going to have the pulled pork One of the nicest meals i've had in a long time.
