SquareMeal Review of The Alibi

This free entry, underground late-night DJ bar sits well with the we’re-way-too-cool-for-Shoreditch ethos that permeates funkier Daggerston (Dalston/ Haggerston). Sweaty, sweet and sexy, it gets crowded with the sort of folk global mega-brands' spies are sent to check out for clues about ‘the next big thing’. Alibi's prosaic, deconstructed bar shifts heroic quantites of strong draught lager at around £3 a pint and basic wines, spirits and mixers from a limited range. A minute dance floor fills to a soundtrack that includes genres so fresh and innovative, musos have yet to label them. The bar’s Email address, succinctly sums up the prevailing mood.
