SquareMeal Review of
Mr White's English Chophouse Whitechapel
Housed at the New Road Hotel in Whitechapel, this Marco Pierre White-fronted restaurant combines an Old English chophouse with some French flair. Open from breakfast, the menu here centres on hearty traditional dishes such as steaks, chops, ribs and pies. To start, guests can pick from the likes of onion soup, or a hot pork pie with buttered spinach. Come mains, 35-day aged steaks are the stars of the show, but you can also opt for fish curry with mango and coriander, or shepherd’s pie. Sides see triple-cooked chips, crispy onion rings and creamed cabbage and bacon, while puddings also reference British classics, with sticky toffee pudding, apple crumble, and poached pear all available.
