food, an interesting regional wine list, and service that simply oozes dignified politesse. The decor is unobtrusive too – think subdued prints, wood panelling, a white beamed ceiling and
Mediterranean roof tiles on yellow walls. Set menus and pre-theatre deals are a bargain, while the carte always includes a decent choice of pasta – perhaps squid-ink tagliatelle with seafood.
Otherwise, kick off with minestrone or scallops with Jerusalem artichoke and beurre blanc, before sampling fillet of beef with baby onions or veal escalope with Parma ham, mozzarella and asparagus
in white wine and tomato jus. The coffee is very good, and you might even spot the odd local celeb having a quiet evening with the family.
