Part of the Joseph fashion store, this über-casual all-day eatery is as deliberately cool as its style-conscious customers. The dining room’s pared-back monochrome decor is punctuated by blood-red chairs, groaning bookshelves and vintage Beatles photos, while the upbeat and keenly priced menu hops around the continents in a bid to woo South Ken’s fashionistas. Pop in for a coffee and club sandwich or stick around for the full works – perhaps seared scallops with carrots and buckwheat noodles followed by homemade tagliatelle with prawns and chilli or chermoula-marinated chicken breast with couscous and baba gannouj. Healthy salads are a perfect fit for those little black dresses, although desserts such as chocolate mousse with ginger caramel and double cream come with a very different agenda. Staff are delightful, and no one’s in a hurry.
