With more than a decade of faithful service to West Didsbury under its natty Nepalese belt, the Gurkha Grill is now reaping the benefits of an extensive revamp. The new dining room, three times the size of the original, features red booths & serried tables for two, but it’s the really lively big groups that give the place its atmosphere – & they tend to get the best from a thorough survey of the menu. House specialities include tandoori quail masala & lamb Nepal, cooked with spices & coconut. If there isn’t much to choose between these & the traditional curry house menu, it doesn’t seem to matter to the Gurkha’s many local fans.
