SquareMeal Review of Coco di Mama

Like its elder sibling on Fleet Street, this branch of Coco di Mama is an exuberant gingham-clothed takeaway-cum-café peddling quick-fire Mediterranean victuals with a winning smile. Founded by a couple of ex-bankers who left the financial world to pursue their passion for Italian food, it takes sourcing seriously – note the coarse dry-cured salami napoli, the single-estate olive oil and the slow-dried Sicilian ‘al bronzo’ pasta. The latter plays a starring role on the menu, and turns up with everything from meatballs and portobello mushrooms to slow-cooked bolognese and pesto sauces. Artisan baguettes, soups and salads provide the back up, with ‘total tiramisu’ or Sicilian lemon cheesecake on hand for those with a sweet tooth. Excellent coffee, great breakfasts (including stone-baked pastries), and local office deliveries too.
