SquareMeal Review of Banyan Bar & Kitchen Manchester

With operations already in Leeds, Harrogate and York, Arc Inspirations has opened Banyan Bar & Kitchen in the newly revamped Corn Exchange. The vast, elegant interior includes two attractive private-dining rooms, while the terrace seats 125 and boasts views across Exchange Square – perfect for summer. The bar has a great range of gins and inventive cocktails, providing new takes on the classics such as a Popcorn Old Fashioned. The menu covers all-day dining options, from breakfast, small plates and sharing platters to heartier main dishes and Sunday roasts; we’re especially impressed with the tender steak and ale shortcrust pie with rich red-wine gravy and fat chips. Specials incorporate healthy options, and there’s even a guilt-free post-workout burger, inspired by the CrossFit coaching team at Train Manchester. However, desserts such as Bakewell tart with raspberry-ripple ice cream, or salted caramel and chocolate torte with honeycomb ice cream, feel suitably treat-like.
