Tucked beneath the buzz of Seven Dials, Story Cellar is a stylish and intimate space for private dining, offering the perfect venue for a memorable lunch, dinner or celebration in one of London’s most vibrant neighbourhoods. Created by acclaimed chef Tom Sellers, the brains behind two Michelin-starred Restaurant Story, this Soho spin-off brings the same inventive spirit in a more relaxed, wine-led setting.
The private dining room at Story Cellar is nestled alongside the restaurant’s beautiful wine cellar, creating a chic and atmospheric space that feels exclusive without being stuffy. Seating up to 18 guests on one long table, the room is ideal for birthdays, celebrations, team dinners or simply an unforgettable night with friends. It comes complete with its own private bathroom and is available daily for both lunch and dinner, with booking slots from 12pm - 4:30pm and 5:30pm - 11pm.
The menu - designed to be shared by the whole table - is a showcase of refined bistro-style dishes with a twist. Begin with small plates like burrata with Oil of Life, house-cured meats, courgette and basil gougères and Carlingford oysters, before moving onto beautifully grilled centrepieces from the rotisserie or charcoal grill, such as market fish, beef T-bone or rotisserie chicken with thoughtful sides like BBQ new potatoes or heritage tomato salad. For dessert, expect elevated comfort - peach melba soft serve, tonka bean bread and butter pudding, and a perfect brown sugar brûlée.
Just like its sibling restaurant, Story Cellar champions storytelling through food but here, it’s all about relaxed indulgence, good wine, and being together. The wine list is carefully curated and extensive, with the cellar’s proximity making pairings a seamless (and delicious) part of the experience.
Whether you’re hosting a small corporate dinner, a special birthday, or an intimate festive gathering, Story Cellar offers a private dining space that’s rooted in exceptional food, warm hospitality and contemporary style, and all just a short stroll from Covent Garden and Soho.
