Nobu Hotel Portman Square is the Marylebone location of this iconic hospitality name, swapping its old digs in Mayfair for a prominent spot on the square, just moments from the West End's most buzzing attractions.
Inside the hotel, guests are welcome to stay in one of the 249 rooms and suites, nurse a cocktail in the authentic Izakaya-experience bar, and of course dine in the revered Nobu restaurant. This is the jewel in the hotel's crown. Pioneered by chef Nobu Matsuhisa, the menu is a reflection of his Japanese heritage and time-honoured cooking techniques linked to this cuisine, as well as his varied travels around the world, featuring exciting new dishes as well as signature favourites such as the miso black cod.
While the restaurant space is stunning, if you were hoping to obtain a private area to host a special supper for your nearest and dearest, you are in luck. Nobu boasts a private dining room located just next to the main restaurant which can accommodate up to 24 guests, suitable for a business lunch, birthday dinner, brand event or even a micro-wedding.
The decor is characterised by a simplistic style featuring strong lines and a minimalist feel. The slide-away doors nod to traditional Japanese design, while glowy lighting feels warm and atmospheric. The space is brought to life, though, by the floor-to-ceiling windows with views overlookig the best of London's architecture.
There is a private dining menu which asks guests to eat in a set format. For lunch, there is a selection of differently-priced set lunch menus and bento boxes, for something more casual. For dinner, choose between group sushi platters, a set dinner menu (again, with different price options) and a list of canapes which are perfect for a networking or brand event, or as a preface to a sit-down meal.
