About

Nestled in the heart of Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter, Hotel du Vin Birmingham offers a refined setting for those looking to host a private dinner in the city centre. Housed in a grand Victorian building dating back to 1884, this former hospital has been transformed into one of the city’s most stylish boutique hotels, bringing period features with modern touches for your upcoming event.

The hotel boasts a selection of distinctive private dining rooms for you to choose from. The largest, Belle Epoque can accommodate up to 77 guests for dinner or 100 for a standing reception. For more intimate gatherings, Sassicaia seats 24, while Opus One is ideal for groups of 14. The Wine Cellar might just be the best seat in the house. Here, you and your guests can enjoy a truly unique experience for up to eight, surrounded by shelves of vintage bottles. Here, you'll get access to a bespoke menu as well as expert wine pairings from the in-house sommelier.

There’s a variety of food options available when it comes to your next private dinner. Canapes and super snacks are on offer for those looking for a light bite for a standing reception. Expect options such as breaded plaice goujons with pommes frites, and cassoulet spring rolls to chicken liver parfait on toasted brioche or roquefort and spinach mini quiches.

For those planning a sit down meal, you can choose from the ‘Classic’, ‘Premium’ or ‘Prestige’ menus, which are all available for a fixed price per person. Guests can start with the likes of roasted king scallops in cafe de Paris butter, and French onion soup, before moving on to the likes of beef cheek bourguignon, with pancetta and mushrooms, or chicken schnitzel with pickled red cabbage and roquette salad.

Desserts are particularly indulgent, spanning artisan cheese platters with biscuits and chutney, to tarte au citron with raspberry sorbet, or apple tarte tatin served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Drinks packages are perfect for those looking to turn a private dinner into more of an occasion. Opt for wine, sparkling or soft drink options.
