If contemporary Thai food, exceptional British ingredients, and a welcoming atmosphere sound like your thing, Baan, the private dining at AngloThai is just the spot for you. Named after the Thai word for 'home', this exquisite space invites guests into a relaxed but refined experience that transcends traditional dining.
The space follows a scheme similar to the award-winning restaurant above, decked out with hand-carved tambour panels, Murano glass chandeliers and a bespoke 16-seater dining table made from indigenous Chamchuri wood from the beautiful Chiang Mai. It draws inspiration from Thailand’s mid-century art deco movement. On the walls, you’ll notice a unique wooden panelling, which is well balanced with the yellow lighting overhead and deep plum tones on the walls.
AngloThai menus take notes from regional cuisines across Thailand, offering up bold impactful flavours. This, along with a commitment to integrating British produce and flavours, is what the team behind AngloThai is known for. Having initially begun as a series of pop-ups, John and Desiree Chantarasak have now built an exceptionally skilled team to deliver the long-awaited AngloThai private dining experience.
AngloThai group dining menus revolve around what is in season around the year, so you’ll find that the menu changes often. Starters have included the likes of kohlrabi with candied beetroot and duchess rapeseed, a poppyseed tartlet with swede and scallop roe chilli jam, a dish of lemongrass sausage tempura with banana pepper and laab spice, and Carlingford oysters with sea buckthorn and fermented chilli. Elsewhere, you’ll find main dishes like wok-fried long aubergine with sweet basil and soy cured yolk, and Windsor Estate venison with peppercorn curry and Jerusalem artichoke. Desserts are just as unique as starters, mains and sides, with options of crown prince pumpkin with honey cake and pumpkin side ice cream, and a cacao ganache paired with sugarcane rum and salted coconut.
