Customer Success Executive

Overall Purpose

To manage up to 250 accounts to ensure an on-going renewal rate in excess of 85%


  • Onboarding of all new accounts, giving them a full run through of the platform
  • Have an effective call with each account at least once a quarter, with regular check ins every 6 weeks
  • Ensure each account listing is up to date and accurate and that they are marketed in the best possible way
  • Understanding clients business needs to help them get the best ROI from their spend
  • Management of CRM system, keeping it up to date with account interactions and key information
  • Coaching clients to make full use of the admin tools
  • Where appropriate upsell listings to higher levels
  • Cross sell other marketing opportunities including SquareMeal Rewards


  • Be organised and able to manage fluctuating workloads
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Be skilled in the areas of influencing and communication at a senior level
  • Have strong business awareness skills to explain the benefit of ROI of working with SquareMeal

Editorial Internship (12 month and 3 month placements available)

We are looking for an editorial intern for a placement at SquareMeal. As an editorial intern, you will be part of our small, busy editorial team, responsible for lots of written content, as well as creating video content for social media channels.

During your placement you will have the opportunity to:

  • Write! Writing content is a big part of the job - the SquareMeal editorial team produces a huge amount of content every month and you’ll be a key part of that. You’ll be required to write news stories, features and listicles, restaurant and venue descriptions, and restaurant reviews.
  • Create social video content - SquareMeal has multiple busy social channels and we post lots of social content to engage with our audience. You’ll be required to create fun, engaging social content, particularly social videos for Instagram and TikTok.
  • Learn how to create SEO-friendly content - understanding how to create content with SEO in mind is a vital part of being a digital journalist. We’ll show you how to do that over the course of three months.
  • Experience working in an exciting, fast-paced media organisation.

Required skills:

  • Must be a competent writer and native English speaker, ideally with some experience of writing either in a journalism environment or at degree level
  • Interest in food and restaurants is vital
  • You’ll need to have great organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines

This placement is an office placement - the editorial team is based at SquareMeal’s offices in Vauxhall, London and you’ll be required to be in the office four days a week, with one flexible work-from-home day a week.

Restaurant journalism placement (4 weeks)

We have a small number of opportunities for four-week work experience placements at SquareMeal.

We are looking for students and graduates with an interest in online journalism, restaurants, events and food to work with the editorial team at SquareMeal’s Vauxhall offices for four week placements.

During your placement you will have the opportunity to:

  • Attend restaurants for review (when/where appropriate).
  • Experience working in a fast-paced media organisation.
  • Train in writing SEO-friendly content.

The editorial team is office-based so we are not able to offer this placement as a remote working placement. You’ll be required to be in the office four days a week, with a flexible work-from-home day each week. The placement is unpaid, however we do offer a one-off payment for the four weeks towards expenses.
