About Tythe

Tythe is a 500-year-old, family-run estate set in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside that effortlessly bridges the gap between rural rustic charm and exceptional event hosting. Though the estate feels a world away from the bustle of the capital, it sits remarkably close to home - just a 50-minute train ride from London Marylebone and minutes from Bicester’s main transport links (there is even space to land a helicopter if you prefer to arrive by air). A working farm at heart, complete with grazing sheep and resident donkeys, the estate brings a distinctively authentic backdrop to everything from corporate retreats and product launches to milestone celebrations, private retreats and weekend away trips.

When it comes to event spaces, Tythe offers total versatility with exclusive hire across the grounds. Central to the estate are two light-filled 14th-century barns, where soaring timber-framed ceilings, original stonework, and warm flagstone floors create a dramatic setting for strategy sessions, company feasts, or big celebrations. If you’re planning a multi-day stay, the restored 17th-century Farmhouse provides a luxurious base for guests, boasting seven stylish en-suite double bedrooms, an elegant library room, and a private dining room, alongside a charming Shepherd's Hut tucked away in the grounds.

Between sessions or celebrations, guests are encouraged to explore the estate at their own pace, whether that means wandering through the lush orchard, playing a game on the private tennis court, unwinding in the outdoor hot tub, or refreshing under the wild showers. Menus are carefully curated by the award-winning private chefs at Absolute Taste, who craft bespoke, seasonal dishes that champion fine British produce. Bright and airy thatched 14th Century barn offering two and a half thousand square foot of space. An ideal space for large gatherings, meetings, presentations, private dinners and workshops. Depending on the nature of your event, the barn can be adapted to suit a variety of seating styles and with fields on one side and lavish gardens on the other the barn provides an inspiring setting. Sophisticated lighting, Bose sound system, large electronic projector, and high-speed internet compliment a fully-stocked 12 foot bar whilst live performances and streaming can be organised. Inspiring menus from in-house caterer Absolute Taste will accommodate a wide range of catering requirements from simple dishes to more elaborate options whilst Tythe provides a well-curated drinks list.

The Cowshed and the Hovel

Adjoining The Thatched Barn, The Cowshed and The Hovel are more intimate spaces that can work together with, or independently from, The Thatched Barn. Incredibly adaptable – these barns feature timber beams, floor-to-ceiling glass and a combined 76sqm of space. Formerly an exposed area for animal feeding, The Cowshed has been transformed into a welcoming space for working and can accommodate a variety of seating layouts with maximum capacities of 45 for ‘theatre’ or 120 ‘reception’. Further options available. For more informal set ups or presentations, delegates can enjoy relaxed seating by the fires (and power sockets) and the use of a projector. In here you’ll also find the built-in pizza oven for some serious post-work grazing. The far end of The Cowshed extends into The Hovel. Flexible and adaptable, this corner of Tythe allows you to work in the prettiest of settings against the backdrop of our impressive gardens. The Hovel can accommodate smaller meetings for up to eight (seated) or more if standing.

The Farmhouse sits at the heart of the farm and is the perfect place for meetings, events, private lunches, dinners, intimate celebrations, workshops and networking. Offering a variety of rooms, each boasting their own unique charm together with stylish interiors, The Farmhouse is an adaptable setting with a huge kitchen/dining room providing seating for up to 30 guests. Additional break-out spaces are available in the form of The Lounge and The Library. These light, airy and comfortable rooms enjoy incredible views of the garden alongside great wi-fi, big screen TV’s, open fires and impressive kitchen facilities. Combined with the outdoor hot tub, tennis court, farm location and 8 ensuite bedrooms The Farmhouse undoubtedly brings versatility and flexibility to your event and an energy that promotes productivity and well-being. Looking for ideas? Owner, Emma Deeley says “Start the day with an alfresco breakfast beneath the willow tree followed by a brainstorming session in The Library. Gather for a relaxed farmhouse lunch at the kitchen table before some team building, garden games and a tennis tournament. Come the evening, let us fire up the pizza oven and the outdoor wood-burners and bring out our kitchen-garden cocktails. The 8 luxury bedrooms provide an opportunity to stay over and an excuse to properly ‘switch off’ with a cheeky dip in the hot tub. It’s definitely not your usual 9 - 5!”

I'm Emma, proud joint owner and director of Tythe. I'm a former London-based professional dancer and personal trainer who swapped ridiculously high stilettos and the King’s Road for life on a farm, wellies and a family.

Will Deeley

Director/Owner

I’m Will Deeley, joint owner and director of Tythe. I grew up on the farm, cutting my teeth lambing in the barn and stacking bales. After 10 years working as a personal trainer between London and local motorsport teams, I decided to focus on developing the barn in 1998 — and I’m still at it today. You’ll often find me somewhere across the estate, maintaining the grounds and managing the day-to-day upkeep of the land, making sure everything is looking its best for our guests.

Stanley Deeley

Hi I’m Stan, Emma and Will are my parents and as a result I have spent many a school summer holiday working at the barn. In my spare time I enjoy playing rugby and DJing. I have now graduated university and started working full time as a Junior Operations Manager here at Tythe.

I look after all things social media and marketing but when I’m not online, I’m an interiors enthusiast and at my happiest with a good book, cup of tea and a biscuit (or three!!). Partial to a bit of reality TV and whilst I’m definitely a home bird, I’ve got big plans to travel and see a bit more of the world.

I'm a Wedding & Events Coordinator at Tythe, and I love being part of creating memorable celebrations for our couples. My background has taken me through several areas of the events industry, including music, corporate hospitality and fashion, which has given me a real appreciation for bringing people together. Outside of work, I enjoy learning about holistic medicine and unwinding with a very eclectic mix of music from the 60s, 70s and 90’s - especially Bowie, who will always be my ultimate music icon!

I'm the book-keeper at Tythe, making sure everything runs smoothly from invoicing our brides and grooms to payroll and lots more tasks others find boring but I secretly enjoy. When I'm not at work you can find me out on the water paddleboarding.

I’m the keeper of grounds at Tythe, always making sure the lawns are mowed, the gravel is raked, and swiping away at any cobwebs! I absolutely hate spiders, when I’m not at work you can find me calling my dad to come and kill a spider in my room!

Dell Boy

Cheeky, noisy donkey

I’m Dell Boy, Tythe’s resident foodie and self-appointed Instagram star. I turned 14 in 2026 and love carrots, apples, banana skins and haylage. I’m always ready for a treat and can be a little noisy too, so listen out for my hee-haw!

Barnaby

Friendly grey donkey

I’m Barnaby, a little quieter and more camera shy than Dell Boy. I also turned 14 in 2026 and enjoy a slower pace of life, good food and plenty of carrots, banana skins and haylage. I’m gentle, friendly and always happy to say hello.

Pip

Cute white pup

I’m little Pip. Sometimes Mum and Dad bring me to the estate, where I love sleeping in the office or sitting at the top of the stairs. You’ll often find me following Mum and Dad around as they work their way across the estate, keeping the grounds looking their best.

Reggie

Gentle giant dog

I’m Reggie, although you might hear Mum and Dad call me Reg. I love farm life, sleeping and, of course, treats. I’m happiest at the farm and usually never too far away from Mum and Dad.
