Set within a recently restored Chelsea townhouse, The Sloane Club offers a collection of private event spaces that balance the building’s heritage with a distinctly modern sensibility. Reopened in 2025, following an extensive refurbishment by Russell Sage Studio, each room emerges with its own design narrative, supported by thoughtful service, flexible layouts, and in-house catering to fit with any event style.
All the rooms feel effortlessly cosy, though The Lady in Black is the most intimate, designed to host up to eight seated or 20 standing guests. Named for the elegant portrait of a socialite dressed in black, it’s atmospheric, featuring dark wood panelling, antique mirrors, a wine wall and a statement chandelier which create an air of refinement. It’s popular for small-scale standing receptions, though if you’re looking for a lighter, more playful setting, The Wren may be a better match. Here, interiors reference The Sloane Club’s naval heritage, offering a convivial setting for up to 16 standing guests.
The Ranelagh is the largest of the dedicated private dining rooms at The Sloane Club, accommodating up to 20 standing guests. It’s great for corporate dinners, but can also be used as an adjunct space for larger events, when hiring the adjacent LILA restaurant. This is the real piece de resistance, featuring a light and spacious restaurant with a retractable glass roof, ideal for summer parties and year-round events, complete with a private cloakroom, check-in area, and customisable decor. It can host dinners with up to 85 seated guests or standing receptions with 160 for drinks receptions, larger-scale company events, or elegant anniversary or engagement parties.
The jewel, however, is The Venus, a richly decorated room that seats 65 (80 standing) and bears sculptural detailing that’s sure to impress. The Demob Bar offers a more relaxed tone for events at The Sloane Club, which hosts 40 standing and is a great choice for pre-event drinks receptions.
