The Rupert Brooke is a sophisticated restaurant located just outside of Cambridge, in Grantchester, serving classic, brasserie-style food with a refined twist. Covering two spacious floors, and with a charming balcony, it offers a number of private hire options for events and celebrations, from birthdays to anniversaries and big parties!
The Rupert Brooke is best suited to large functions or exclusive hire, with a maximum seated capacity of 45 (or more for standing events). The upstairs dining space and adjoining balcony can be reserved for meals, buffets and parties, or you can hire the whole venue for a blowout occasion. Whatever you have in mind, the team will do their best to accommodate you.
The decor throughout is modern but cosy, with large arched windows, wooden floors and white tablecloths for more formal events. It's flexible too: the tables can be arranged however you wish, be it smaller separate tables or one long banquet style set-up.
Food wise, the team can offer a selection of menus and catering styles depending on the occasion, from more informal buffet style dining to a three-course dinner. The restaurant works with local suppliers to source the best possible produce, which head chef Matthew King uses to create his seasonal British menus. Examples of dishes you might expect to try include lemon sole with caper butter sauce, pork Schnitzel with French potato salad and marinated cucumber, or Chalk Stream trout with sweet chilli sauce on a bed of orzo pasta.
The team takes great care in curating its wine list and offers a huge selection of wines by the glass to encourage diners to try something new. While for higher quality, rare wines, it employs a Coravin system to ensure ultimate freshness.
