The Newman is one of Fitzrovia's coolest hotels, opening at the beginning of 2026, it brings a retro-sleek aesthetic to Bloomsbury's sometimes grander, more traditional hotel scene. As well as 81 rooms, The Newman boasts an impressive portfolio of events spaces designed for intimate gatherings of just 12, up to huge, full-takeover parties.
For private dining, there are two mostly-used spaces called Talland and Little Talland. With intricately cut, patterned wooden walls and stunning lighting installments, these spaces exude subtle glamour with options to transform with boardroom seating and space for presentations, as well as seated dinners, and cocktails and canapes. Talland has capacity for 28 people, while Little Talland has space for 12 people - when combined there's enough space for up to 80 people whens standing.
Another option is The Penthouse, a stylish, rooftop space which is also works for corporate events and networking, or parties and celebrations. Think deep-toned parquet flooring, large, sinkable sofas in rich olives and browns, and a minimalist outdoor terrace. Here, you can host up to 30 people standing or 15 seated.
For a proper party, the Gambit Bar is ideal. With enough space for 100 people, it's the kind of place you can have a real knees up, hosting a bash that all your friends will remember. The statement ceiling and fashionable interiors will impress immediately, while the central bar will keep things moving nicely, ensuring everyone is fed and watered.
The final space is The Stage; leading from the Gabit Bar, it has a snug-like feel. Shaped like a cove with low seating and occasional chairs and pouffes, the patterned carpet and metallic table lamps give a real 70s vibe. This is a fabulous space for up to 15 guests for an intimate get together.
Or, if you really want to make a splash, take over Talland, Little Talland, Gambit Bar and The Stage with capacity for 150 people and host the party of the year.
