The Gore is a quintessentially British hotel with a fabulous event spaces, found smack bang in the middle of Kensington, right next to Hyde Park and plenty of iconic landmarks. It has been entertaining both Londoners and out-of-towners since 1892 and has welcomed some huge names through its doors, including Judy Garland and The Rolling Stones, who chose the hotel to host the launch party for their 1968 album Beggars Banquet.
And, what's good enough for the Stones is good enough for us. So, if you're interested in what The Gore has to offer as a private hire venue, we think you'll be impressed. The Gore has an experienced events team and, for those getting married, a dedicated wedding coordinator on hand to help as much or as little as you'd like throughout the planning process.
There are three main spaces available for private events. The largest is the Tapestry Room, with dramatic dark walls, wooden panelling, magnificent tapestries and gilded frames. It's an impactful setting with capacity for up to 100 guests standing or 45 for a seated dinner. The Mulberry Room has a similar feel, with inky walls and striking artwork, this time accommodating up to 30 standing or 20 seated. It is also possible to combine these two spaces, creating a seamless flow between the rooms and enough capacity for up to 150 guests if you're planning the party of the century.
Alternatively, the Library offers a unique sense of elegance, making it a memorable backdrop for an important event. Standout features include a grand mahogany bookcase, historic artworks and, of course, the hotel's signature teal walls. Here, you can host up to 35 guests for a drinks reception or 30 for a seated dinner. During the day, large sash windows flood the room with natural light, while in the evening it takes on a wonderfully atmospheric feel.
