About That Amazing Place

If you're looking to host the party of the year, you'll need a special venue to do it. And, if you're based in or near Essex and love the idea of countryside retreat, then look no further because 'That Amazing Place' offers all kinds of packages for event and party planners.

This aptly-named venue is a Grade II listed manor house surrounded by beautiful countryside and even boasts a cottage with space for 31 people, so that you can take over the exclusive use of the site for the whole weekend. Formerly a family home, the current owners have lovingly renovated it for its new purpose as a stand-out venue.

Inside you'll find a selection of rooms that can be reconfigured or transformed with decor to suit the style of your soiree. The Lakeview Lounge, for example, boasts period features such as a fireplace, sash bay windows and ceiling cornicing making it a gorgeous space for a networking or a drinks reception, an informal 'hang out' room in the day, or even for giving a presentation in.

The largest space indoors is The Hall which can accommodate up to 100 people. This wide, open area is perfect for a party. Add lights, music and decorations with side tables for perching at with a drink and this is a fabulous place to dance the night away, get together with friends or even host colleagues or clients.

If the warmer weather permits, the gardens are gorgeous and should be planned into your weekend, whether it be a picnic or a walk. The marquee also offers a swish al fresco dining experience; with a cream-hued, draped ceiling and chandelier, it's got all the charm of the main house but complemented by the 360 degree views. Here, you can invite 150 guests for a sit-down meal or up to 200 if drinks and dancing only.

The Hall is our largest space inside the house and features beautiful chandelier lighting, a large mirrored wall, original fireplace and elegant sash windows. It can be used for wedding ceremonies for up to 100 guests, wedding breakfasts for up to 80 people seated and also as an evening dancing option.

Our stunning marquee has crisp white linings and beautiful chandelier lighting. With panoramic walls to showcase our glorious grounds, there really isn’t a better view whilst enjoying your wedding breakfast. In addition, during the warmer summer months, our panoramic walls all open up, so you almost feel like you are dining alfresco! This beautiful space can be used all year round for ceremonies of 100-150 guests, wedding breakfasts for up to 150 guests and evening receptions for up to 200 guests (provided that you use our in-house DJ Herts Events).

The Gazebo

Built and positioned to make the most of our fabulous location, our outdoor wedding gazebo is position to really make the most of our stunning grounds. Situated right next to the lake and with the lake as your backdrop, it really is the most incredible place to say your wedding vows.

The Lakeview Lounge

Our beautiful lounge is bright an elegant with its gorgeous bay sash windows. With views of our picturesque grounds, it is the perfect space for a wedding ceremony for up to 70 guests. In the evening this room can be transformed into a stunning dance floor and with its close proximity to the bar, it creates the perfect atmosphere for an incredible evening reception. Alternatively, you can choose to leave it as a Lounge and use it as a space for your friends and family to relax and chat. The choice is yours!
