Spanning five unique spaces, both indoor and outdoor, Mercato Metropolitano Wood Wharf is a huge venue with a lot of potential for large-scale events.

The multi-level food market is situated in the heart of Canary Wharf, boasting riverside views and nestled within landscaped gardens. To give you a feel of the scale of the venue, the entire estate garden has a capacity of up to 15,000 people, with a range of unique spaces within the building to choose from.

The main ground floor dining hall seats 110 guests, or 250 standing, designed with long wooden benches and high bar stools. The space offers social seating arrangements and can be configured to host a big guest list, best suited to large-scale celebrations and office-wide parties.

Hosting a slightly smaller soiree? The downstairs basement accommodates up to 50 people seated, and 80 standing, with an intimate, dark and moody atmosphere. There is also a basement karaoke suite, which is well-suited to lively birthday parties and staff socials.

If it’s a summertime event that you’re planning, head outside to the gardens, which can host up to 200 standing. The leafy lawn is kitted out with deckchairs and picnic cushions, giving your guests somewhere to sit down and relax amongst all the festivities. Mercato Metropolitano also has four private igloos, with a capacity of ten people in each, which act as great breakout spaces and a cosy shelter during winter months.

Of course, your guests will be well-catered for, with Mercato’s wide range of food stalls available. From Mexican street food, to Chinese dim sum, to Jamaican fusion, there’s a whole host of cuisines to choose from, ensuring everyone at your party can find something they like. Plus, the MM Bar is on hand to keep your guests topped up with craft beer, wine and cocktails all night long.
