Most known for being one of the most prominent Scottish restaurants in London and for having one of the best burgers in London, Mac & Wild is actually a fantastic venue for various private and corporate events.
From birthday parties, staff get-togethers and hen dos and stag dos, the group’s two-floor Fitzrovia restaurant can be hired out exclusively or by section.
If you’re in need of a more private space, the basement is ideal. It has a minimum spend depending on the size and type of your event, but with a complete Scottish menu with some seriously delicious treats and a wide selection of whiskeys and cocktails, that won’t be an issue. Dimly lit and with dark green wooden walls and exposed brick, the space is definitively atmospheric with a rustic Highland theme.
Exclusive hire has no fee, but minimum spends apply, and will give access to the narrow and intimate upstairs main restaurant. What we like about this space are the antlers and stag skin that hang from the ceiling as decorations – plus, it’s is where the bar is.
Still, it’s the food that is at the centre here. A must-try is the Venimoo Burger (beef patty, venison patty, cheese, béarnaise sauce and caramelised onions), which was voted London’s best burger twice (once in 2016 and again in 2018). Other bucket-list items include the haggis pops, the venison scotch egg and the truffle mac and cheese. It would be silly not to try one of the great Scottish butcher’s cuts, too, sourced from traceable producers and prepared by in-house butchers.
