About King's House

This former billiard hall in the heart of King's Cross is an initiative of King's Cross Church. Split across two levels, the ground floor provides a hub for the local community and a range of specialised services, while the first floor is a flexible events space able to host both live and virtual events. With exposed brick walls, industrial windows and high ceilings, this blank canvas venue has been home to a variety of events such as live performances, conferences, private celebrations and more.

The 2000 sq ft room upstairs boasts a 200 seat auditorium capacity and full AV facilities suitable for presentations, music and even live streaming and hybrid events, making it a truly versatile venue adaptable to all types of occasions. This main area is joined by three smaller spaces (Luciana, Fleet and Saint Rooms) with capacities of 30 to 40 people, all equipped with a TV, sound system and microphone for use as breakout spaces or workshops. Whatever your reason for hosting, be it a conference, exhibition, training day or gala dinner, this room can be adapted to suit your needs. 

The experienced team is happy to assist with equipment set-up and ensuring all furniture is configured to your requirements. There will always be a minimum of one member of staff on site during your event and hire for over 80 attendees will also include a dedicated events assistant.

As a dry-hire venue, there is no in-house catering but King’s House does offer unlimited teas and coffees and access to the kitchenette for food prep and dishwashing. External catering is more than welcome should you require canapes, bowl food, or a seated meal. There are plenty of local companies that the team can recommend.

Do note that King's House does not currently offer hire for birthdays or Christmas parties at this time.

King's House's Pricing Summary

Cancellation Policy

The Venue Owner will use reasonable endeavors to re-hire the premises but the Venue Owner reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee. Any sums received by the Venue Owner for re-letting the premises shall be deducted from the cancellation fee. The cancellation fee will be: a) 100% of the Hire Fee for cancellation less than one month before the date of the event; b) 50% of the Hire Fee for cancellation more than one month but less than three months before the date of the event; c) Where the hire agreement is canceled more than three months before the event there is no cancellation fee but the deposit will be forfeit unless an alternative date(s) for hire can be agreed.

Basic AV package - includes sound, lighting and visuals run by 1 technician for the duration of your event: £100/hour Additional packages (please ask for details): - Intermediate AV - specialist lighting with 2 technicians: £200/hour - Basic Livestreaming & Recording - additional technician: +£100/hour - Intermediate Livestreaming & Recording - 2 additional technicians: +£200/hour - Advanced Livestreaming & Recording - min. 3 additional technician: +£300/hour

We used this space for a one-day conference and awards ceremony. Such a great, beautiful, versatile spacer on a great location. We could use the main room for the conference programme, one of the side rooms for catering and the downstairs cafe for a drinks reception. It all worked really smoothly! The tech side works really well as well and they helped us stream the event on Youtube. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Would definitely use their space again!

We have used King's House for two different events now & both have been excellent. We first hired the venue back in summer for a corporate summer party, the venue is a great space & dry hire so you can provide your own drinks, food, DJ, music etc which is great. The second event was most recent we used the venue for a corporate live stream, the day was a success and everyone on the live stream was impressed with the filming & location. The staff are so helpful and are on hand to help out. A big thank you to Geddy & Sam.We look forward to hosting another event here in the future!

Is there a dedicated unloading space?

Yes, there is a space just opposite 2 Northdown Street where you can unload your equipment with a 20 minute allowance.
