Hermitage Road is a sophisticated yet relaxed restaurant set in a stunning, historic ballroom in the middle of Hitchin. With a convenient location in the centre of Hertfordshire, it's home to a myriad of unique spaces for your next event, from the intimate wine bar to a private dining room.
Formerly a ballroom, Hermitage Road boasts triple height ceilings and huge windows which flood the space with beautiful natural light, alongside original period features like interesting exposed brick work. The location is another plus point, situated right in the heart of town and surrounded by other independent businesses, it feels part of the buzz and is easy to get to.
The team here are experienced at hosting events and love bringing people together in one of its many spaces. For a totally exclusive experience, the private dining room sits upstairs above the main space and has capacity for 10 to 18 guests around a central table. The space is stylishly designed with wood panelled walls, minimalist artworks and artistic touches. Booking the private dining room gets you four hours in the space, your own private waiter, a three course menu and projector and sound system available, if needed. For more informal affairs, canapes and cocktails can be catered for, if you'd prefer a standing or socialising soiree.
The gorgeous open plan bar area can also be booked out, giving your guests more freedom to move around the space. Capacity stands between 25 to 50 guests and packages include a welcome drink on arrival and a pre-allocated amount of drinks throughout the night, with food available to add on top.
As if all that wasn't enough, Hermitage Road also has a small wine bar next door with stylish decor and an intimate vibe. Available to hire for 14 guests, wine tastings can be arranged to bring your gathering an interactive feel, and all bookings are greeted with an impressive magnum of Nyetimber.
