Walthamstow has long been the stomping ground of the cool kids - just think of it as Hackney's edgier little sister. And, for those who want to get together over something a little different than the usual dinner and drinks, Flukes offers a traditional games hall experience, but brought into the now with cool interiors, interactive games and good vibes.
You'll find Flukes within Big Penny Social, the UK's largest beer hall that, come summer time, is known for its heaving beer garden and has a bunch of fun events all year round. Upstairs, Flukes offers a selection of games which can be booked for one hour bursts, ideal for getting mates together or available to book for private hire.
As for the games themselves, think six interactive dart boards with space for up to 10 players, two interactive shuffle boards with space for up eight players and three private kareoke rooms (named after some of the greats: Tina, Elton and Stevie) with capacity for up to 14 people. The kareoke rooms are powered by Lucky Voice and have an impressive 11,000 songs to choose from!
Finally, if you're in the mood for a good ol' game of pool - you're in luck! At the heart of Flukes is the spirit of old school pool halls and the venue has four pool tables for up to eight players to enjoy. They're quite proud of them, toom, with American-style ‘PureLine’ LA Pro tables and tournament grade slate beds upholstered in the house red cloth. Stunning!
If you fancy taking over entirely, Flukes can host up to 200 people and if you want the team's advice, hold an event or conference downstairs in Big Penny Social, and use the games hall for afters. Another option? Book the Clubhouse bar which, as they say, looks like if Wes Anderson designed a working mens club and is a stylish place for a knee's up. Here, you can have your own corner for up to 60 people.
