If you're looking for venue hire options in Sheffield and imagining a place that has charm, history and lots of space, have you considered Channing Hall? Built in 1881 by Sheffield Architects Flockton and Gibbs, it was originally intended to be used by the community - as it still is today.
The big draw of Channing Hall is its incredible interior architecture which includes Italianate-style glazed tile walls in a mix of soft blues and teals, complimented by a contrasting deep red and ornate cornicing and mouldings. Windows are huge and arched, flooding the space with light, while a central, wooden floor sits next to blue, patterned carpet which adds a charming, decorative feel.
As for logistics, the space is located on the first floor and while a spiral staircase had been the main route of access for years, a lift now makes things much easier. The capacity is 110 people and in terms of facilities, you can expect to enjoy use of free wifi as well as Bluetooth, MP3, a hearing loop, desk microphones, Audio / PA system, wireless microphone and lectern. This all makes Channing Hall the perfect place to host a conference, brand event or important meeting. While a digital projector and large, portable screen are also available for hire.
If you want to host a team-building lunch or even just prepare some small snacks and drinks, a hot water urn is free to use, while the kitchen can be hired seperately, which is especially useful if you're planning on bringing in a catering company. The kitchen includes a double sink, cooker with double oven and ceramic hob, as well as microwave and large fridge and freezer. Utensils and crookery will need to be brought in by yourself or your caterer, however.
