Every event deserves to be special but if you really want yours to stand out, what about a truly iconic venue like the British Film Institute on London's Southbank? It goes without saying, it has a fantastic location, snuggled next to Waterloo Bridge. Multiple underground and train stations are within walking distance, from Southwark to Embankment, so if you're bringing friends, family or colleagues together from across London, this is the ideal spot.
While you might have visited the BFI before, you probably haven't explored the institute's private events options. There are two main options including the Balcony Bar, which is an incredible space with lofty ceilings and exposed, modernist beams, alongside huge, floor-to-ceiling windows which bring natural light into space. The Balcony Bar has enough space for up to 120 people standing, ideal for cocktail and canapes style receptions. Along the edges of the room are bright yellow banquettes which bring a 70s feel, with lots of smaller tables throughout which are perfect for holding drinks, leaning on and socialising.
For smaller soirees there's The Drawing Room: an intimate, characterful bar with wooden panelled walls and low lighting. Here, you can host up to 40 people standing or just 16 seated, so if an exclusive supper is what you imagined, you're in luck. Wifi, a PA system and speakers all come with your booking as standard.
Whether you're planning a corporate do, entertaining clients or bringing friends together, the BFI Riverfront Restaurant & Bar is a gorgeous choice and what's more, events are out-sourced to a specialist company, Benugo, who work with wow-worthy venues across London. Catering isn't provided in house so be sure to speak to the organisers about creating something bespoke for your event, any decor you'd like to bring into the space or fun extras that will make your time even more special.
