With its unbeatable location – close to Bank and Liverpool Street stations – flexible event spaces, and a team of skilled mixologists ready to impress, Anise is an exceptional choice for private parties and celebrations in the City. The newly refurbished bar is perfect for an intimate Christmas reception – book now to avoid disappointment – while either the terrace or the bar are popular for post-summer after-work bashes.

A recent interior overhaul by Alessio Nardi of A-nrd Design Studio (Winter 2025) nods to the building’s former life as a spice warehouse, blending rich, spice-inspired tones with terracotta textures and Indian craft touches. The show-piece bar, framed by elegant green drapes and plush booths creates a warm, stylish but nicely informal setting, ideal for parties.

For smaller groups, the bars’s cosy, tucked-away booths offer a comfortable and semi-private setting. Seating up to 20 guests, these booths are ideal for relaxed, smaller celebrations with friends or colleagues, complete with outstanding drinks and mouthwatering bar snacks. Planning a larger event? Take over the entire venue, including the year-round covered terrace, with space for up to 150 people standing. The stylish, modern interiors, with atmospheric lighting and bold design, create a striking backdrop for any occasion, whether it’s a lively party or a more refined affair.

Anise’s bar menu is where the magic really happens. Renowned for its spice-infused cocktails, the drinks menu is a collaboration between bar manager Piyush Gouchwal and mixology legend Ryan Chetiyawardana (aka Mr Lyan) taking classic favourites and adding an Indian twist. The drinks list gives equal billing to alcoholic and non-alcoholic creations featuring fresh, bold flavours and locally foraged botanicals. Not a cocktail drinker? Anise also offers a handpicked selection of beers, ciders, wines, and further soft drinks sourced from India and beyond, so there’s something for every palate.

An enticing menu of classic bar snacks, given bold Indian twists, provide the sustenance. Anise’s food offerings are as vibrant as its drinks, ranging from the Mumbai chilli cheese toastie – all heat and attitude – to Kurkure chicken winglets and a lamb seekh kebab roll, made for sharing.
