Nestled in the heart of Teddington, Shambles restaurant & winebar is run by siblings Margherita and Massimo, and serves Christmas menus packed with Italian seasonal comfort food.
When Christmas-time rolls around, Shambles goes into full festive mode, with chef Massimo cooking up elevated Italian festive food alongside more than 40 wines by the glass. You can expect antipasti such as handmade pork tortellini in veal consomme, crispy fried squid with lemon and fermented Scotch Bonnet chilli sauce, as well as the likes of red wine risotto with Parmesan, Taleggio and truffle, and garganelli pasta with venison cacciatore.
Turkey fans, fear not - Massimo’s turkey saltimbocca with Parma ham and Roman broccoli is a Christmas classic, but there’s also slow-cooked beef in Nebbiolo wine, and a tiramisu to finish things off. The Christmas menu is available as a set menu, with guests choosing between two, three, or four courses.
Groups are welcome to book a table in the restaurant, but if you’re organising a Christmas celebration with friends, or a work Christmas party, Shambles also offers a few different areas for private hire. The dining room is available to hire for groups of up to 45 seated, or 65 for a standing event like a canape and drinks party. The restaurant also boasts a lovely terrace, though you may find it a little on the chilly side at Christmas. Or, Shambles also offers exclusive private hire of the whole restaurant, with capacity for 140 guests including all the inside space, plus the outside space underneath the retractable roof.
As well as the main Christmas menus, Shambles can also organise Christmas drinks and nibbles for more low-key occasions, including sharing boards of focaccia, charcuterie, skewers and more.
