Housed inside Bradmore House, an impressive Grade II-listed building in Hammersmith, Kindred Christmas parties offer considerably more flair than a function room, with a venue that spreads across three floors of historic architecture. Key features include original fireplaces, high arched windows, reclaimed timber floors and rooms that can serve you from dinner to cocktails to dancing.
For a big end-of-year bash, The Hall takes up to 150 standing or 110 for dinner. By night, candlelight, brass and marble details and an open fireplace make it surprisingly cosy for its size, while a stocked bar and built-in stage are ready for speeches, bands or DJs. Smaller groups can head upstairs: The Library seats 40 around a long communal table, with books lining the walls and the adjoining Salon Bar ready for post-dinner cocktails. The Butterwick Room is the intimate option, seating 16 amid original 18th-century details and rich blue walls.
Then there is the food. Instead of default festive-party fare, groups can choose a three-course dinner or a more convivial feasting menu built around seasonal British produce. Sharing options include roast Longhorn beef sirloin with truffle and red-wine jus, braised lamb shoulder, roast potatoes and charred greens, finished with boards of cinnamon doughnuts, ginger cake, chocolate truffles and lemon posset tarts. Canapés, grazing boards and late-night sliders, fried chicken, pizza or mac and cheese can keep things going later.
Another few Christmas-party essentials to note include events closing times, which ordinarily finish at 11pm, but licences can be extended to midnight or 2am. DJs and bands are welcome with prior agreement, and Kindred can help source entertainment. Decorations are allowed - which is great news - although exposed flames and synthetic confetti are not. Well-behaved dogs are generally welcome to come along, but perhaps a Christmas party isn't quite the right time.
