You won’t find a more impressive Christmas venue than Grade II-listed, Michelin-starred Galvin La Chapelle in Spitalfields. Celebrate the festive season under La Chapelle’s stunning marble arches, with a menu of elevated Christmas classics.
It’s no surprise that Galvin La Chapelle has been one of London’s most celebrated restaurants for over a decade - the magnificent dining room is surely among the most impressive in London. Huge arched windows fill the space with light, whilst an arched stone ceiling stretches up over your head. Add in the handy location in Spitalfields, between Shoreditch and Liverpool Street, and the outstanding modern French cookery, and Galvin La Chapelle is unsurprisingly very popular over the Christmas period too.
There are a few private and semi-private areas available to hire within Galvin La Chapelle for those who are planning a private Christmas party. The Gallery, for example, is a private dining room on the mezzanine level, suspended over the main dining room. There’s room for 16 around the large dining table, and Galvin La Chapelle lays on a series of set Christmas menus for guests to choose from, as well as an outstanding wine list that includes a selection of rarities and fine vintages.
Down at ground level, there’s also The Arches - a semi-private space behind some of La Chapelle’s stone arches, separated from the main restaurant by a thick curtain. This space accommodates 24 guests for seated gatherings. Of course, you also have the option of booking a table in the restaurant as well, and for larger gatherings, exclusive private hire of the entire restaurant is available too.
Meanwhile, Galvin La Chapelle’s Christmas menus includes elevated versions of classic French festive dishes - think roast pheasant stuffed with chestnut, with braised endive and fondant cep, Jerusalem artichoke veloute with black truffle, and the famous Galvin tarte tatin with Normandie creme fraiche.
