Turtle Bay Manchester on Oxford Street brings a quirky piece of the Caribbean to a road that’s filled with historical buildings, theatres and bars, and brings no less energy with it in the process. From the outside Turtle Bay looks relatively polished and innocuous but on the inside this industrial space is filled to the brim with colour, art, music and the sounds of cocktail shakers and jerk fire pits… there is nothing plain about this place. Ideal for a quick breakfast or lunch, Turtle Bay is even better to come to with friends for some freshly shaken cocktails, food and some good vibes.

Everything on the menu has a Caribbean twist to it, starting off with the breakfast and brunch menu which features things like the Kingston grill down - Turtle Bay’s answer to an English breakfast with jerk bacon and sausages. A list of small plates is perfect for sharing with some drinks, the only issue being that you might find it difficult to not just choose the lot with garlic pit prawns and jerk halloumi with watermelon being just two of the many temptations. The rest of the menu holds something for everyone offering everything from baby back ribs and jerk chicken to West Indian curries; the desserts here are indulgent, think sticky ginger pudding.

The drinks list is extensive and features a long list of cocktails, rums and homemade soft drinks all of which match the energy of the place and can be especially enjoyed during the daily happy hours. On top of this Turtle Bay offers daily bottomless brunches in its energetic space which allow you two hours to enjoy a selected item from the menu as well as bottomless beer, cocktails, mocktails or Prosecco… perfect for a day out with friends. Turtle Bay might not be the most sophisticated place, but it definitely has to be one of the most vibrant.
