If you fancy painting the town red, head to The Long Acre, where a 3am licence in the basement keeps the party going until the small hours. Upstairs, the decor mixes vibrant splashes of 1990s colour with vintage fabrics, wallpaper, dangling pendant lamps and more framed prints than an art gallery. The bright, buzzy bar serves Cosmos, Mojitos and fun sparklers like the Ginchello (gin, limoncello, redcurrant syrup, lychee and Prosecco), alongside reasonably priced wines and big-name beers. We like the secret happy hour: say ‘bubbles’ at the bar between 5-8pm for half-price cocktails and bottles of wine. An all-day menu delivers passable pub grub (burgers, bangers, steaks, fancy sandwiches, plus sharing boards and bar snacks too) – just avoid the dry, tasteless chicken skewers. Staff are all smiles, but service can wobble during busy periods, which are frequent, as this corner site nabs plenty of passing tourist trade.
