This beautiful manor house, which dates back to 1866, is surprisingly unstuffy. On the borders of Exmoor National Park, the handsomely furnished exclusive-use venue offers couples the chance to host 82 guests overnight, providing a proper ‘house party’ vibe. Describing itself as a home from home, the experience is as much about getting ready en masse and the post-wedding day coffees and catch-ups as it is the formalities. Of the five reception spaces, we like the look of the book-lined Library for a drinks reception before moving into the Great Hall for a feast. Civil ceremonies can take place inside and out, plus there’s a church by the driveway. The best bit? There’s no corkage fee.
