A famous face serenaded Billie Faiers at her Maldives wedding

Former TOWIE star Billie Faiers married her long time beau in the Maldives last Tuesday, and the wedding reception featured a surprise performance from a familiar face.

Billie, 29, who currently stars on ITVBe’s The Mummy Diaries with her sister Sam, wed 33-year-old Greg Shepherd on the stunning island of Kuramathi in the Maldives. The couple already have two children together, daughter Nelly who is four, and son Arthur, who recently turned two.

The newlyweds spoke to OK Magazine

In an exclusive interview with OK Magazine, the happy couple revealed all about their nuptials, including Greg’s arrival on a speedboat, and the confession that the raucous wedding reception rumbled on until 3am.

The most surprising detail though, that even the bride didn’t know about, was a special performance from one of Billie’s closest friends. Fellow former TOWIE star Ferne McCann wowed guests with an impromptu performance of Ben E. King’s ‘Stand by Me’. Billie was taken aback by the gesture, and revealed that Ferne has “a brilliant voice”.

For her big day, Billie wore a lace-covered, low-cut mermaid dress with a long train. “Because we didn’t get married in a church I could get away with something more daring”, she commented.

Despite the joy surrounding the momentous occasion, the couple were hit by claims from fellow holidaymakers at their luxury resort that the wedding party had 'turned paradise into Southend'. Billie and Greg have both strongly denied the claims, with Billie hitting back: “I was half expecting some loudness as there are 95 of us out here celebrating [but] we have always been very respectful of the island and the other guests holidaying here.”

Her hubby Greg even appeared to poke fun at the claims, uploading a video of some of the guests to his Instagram story and captioning it ‘Southend’s finest’.

Just two days after their wedding, the couple celebrated their son Arthur’s second birthday party on Kuramathi island, hiring out a restaurant for the occasion.
