Nestled in the rolling countryside of Chichester, West Sussex, The Rubbing House is a unique dry-hire wedding venue offering complete exclusivity for your special day. With breathtaking views across the South Downs National Park and as far as the Isle of Wight, this family-owned Georgian estate is a truly stunning location for a celebration to remember.
The venue’s beauty lies in its flexibility. Whether you’re planning an elegant garden ceremony, a festival-style reception with marquees and tipis, or a relaxed, intimate celebration, The Rubbing House is a blank canvas that allows you to shape your day your way. There’s room for up to 250 guests in a marquee and electricity and water are supplied to the grounds.
A hidden pizza truck area adds a fun twist for evening feasting, and the on-site accommodation (for up to 16 guests) is included in the two-night wedding package - ideal for hosting your closest family and friends in comfort before and after the big day.
Children are warmly welcomed here, with plenty of space to run, explore and play. You can choose different lawns for your ceremony, reception, wedding breakfast and party, with each outdoor area offering beautiful photo opportunities.
As a dry-hire venue, The Rubbing House offers full freedom to bring your vision to life. They work with a trusted marquee supplier and recommend the brilliant Cara Pinsent Bespoke Dining for intimate in-house meals. A food truck or pizza option is also available from Pizza On The Hill and couples are free to bring in their own preferred caterers. Optional support from local wedding planner Keshira Creative Events is also available. From woodland ceremonies to laid-back lawn parties, The Rubbing House is the perfect private countryside setting for a wedding that’s entirely your own.
