The venue’s stand out space is Baron’s Hall, which was completed way back in 1341. The historic space benefits from a 60-foot high chestnut beamed ceiling, able to accommodate up to 136 guests for a wedding reception featuring a sit-down dinner, and up to 200 guests for a ceremony.
For smaller parties, the Sunderland Room can seat up to 88 guests for dinner. The space is found at the top of a spiral turret staircase and features sandstone and wood panelled walls that add a real touch of magic. The final indoor wedding space at Penshurst Place & Gardens is The Buttery, which is an ideal spot for small weddings. The room features exposed brick walls, eye-catching antique tapestries which hang from the walls and a large fireplace which adds a touch of atmosphere.
If you want to make the most of the gardens during the summer months, opt for an outdoor ceremony. At Penshurst, you can host an outdoor ceremony or drinks reception within the intimate Inner Courtyard, which is kitted out with bunches of colourful roses and fragrant peonies.
If you’re planning to tie the knot in the winter, you can still enjoy the flexibility of an ‘outdoor’ wedding. Penshurt Place & Gardens can provide a heated marquee which is set up in the Inner Courtyard. The marquees are fully customisable and also offer the largest capacity for seated dining at the venue, making them an astute choice for a winter ceremony or reception.
