Set in the rolling North Hertfordshire countryside, Milling Barn in Buntingford is an exclusive-use wedding venue where rustic charm meets considered detail. With vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and a warm atmosphere, this historic barn provides a striking backdrop for ceremonies and receptions alike.

The Oak Barn is licensed for civil weddings and partnerships and can seat up to 144 guests beneath its dramatic timbers. Alongside it, the Dairy Barn has space for 120 and a licensed bar, making it ideal for dining or evening festivities. Receptions can host up to 250 guests, though the barns can also be styled for more intimate celebrations, making it a truly flexible venue.

For couples dreaming of an outdoor setting, Milling Barn’s farmland, gardens and woodland provide endless possibilities, from al fresco ceremonies to festival-style marquees. Many choose to marry locally and then return here for a reception with a countryside feel.

Every detail is thought of, with linen napkins, crockery, a rustic cake table with a stand and knife, as well as offering a dedicated dressing room with a coffee machine. An outdoor evening kitchen adds flexibility, while the in-house caterer designs menus that make the most of seasonal produce. Couples can opt for a traditional three-course meal or a feasting platter of sharing dishes that encourages a convivial atmosphere. For evening guests, wood-fired pizzas are also available to keep celebrations fuelled late into the night.

On-site accommodation completes the offering, including a romantic honeymoon suite with countryside views and seven en suite bedrooms for family and friends. With licensed bars, an alcohol licence, confetti permitted, disabled access and ample parking, Milling Barn is one of Hertfordshire’s most versatile and welcoming wedding venues.

Price Guarantee

The venue hire range starts from £1670 in October/November (Monday-Wednesday) and it can get up to £5420 on Saturday in July/August. Venue hire includes all the rustic wooden tables, chairs, fairy lights, napkins, outside furniture, PA system, cake table, stand and cake knife, easel. All glassware, cutlery and crockery are included in the catering as well as plates and napkins for your evening buffet. Minimum spent applicable on food & drinks. Catering

The prices start from £68/person for a 3 course Formal menu and it can get up to £76/person for a Feast/Roast menu. Minimum spend will apply on wedding Breakfast, Drinks Packages and Evening Food. Whether you want a Traditional or a more Relaxed feel, our in-house Chefs can create a delicious Wedding Breakfast that all your guests will enjoy! In the evening to keep all your guests going we have our own outdoor kitchen with a superb Al Fresco menu, where you can see our chefs do what they do best and make sure no one goes up to our cosy accommodation hungry.

We had our wedding here at the end of March 2026 and it was THE BEST day (even if the weather wasn't completely on our side). We knew from our first visit this was the perfect place. We were assigned Niamh as our contact who was always on hand to answer all our many many questions. When it came to the day, it was completely stress free. Myself and Bridesmaids got ready in the spacious dressing room which was available from 9am. A few of the onsite rooms were available from 11am ready for the groom etc to prep. Niamh was checking in on us regularly which we really appreciated. In terms of the venue set up, Niamh and the team managed everything, setting up the barns perfectly and even better than we ever imagined. There was plenty of space for all our guests in and across all of the barns (we had about 90 day guests). During the day (and after) we were receiving praise for the venue! Food wise, we chose the 3 course Chicken Roast which was delicious and portions were very generous...we couldn't eat it all! Lots of compliments received. The pizza in the evening also went down well with the guests. Overall, It was truly the best day and we can't thank Niamh and the team enough for making it so special ?? We didn't want it to end.

From the moment we went to view Milling Barn, we knew it was the perfect venue for our wedding. Our coordinator Niamh was absolutely superb at guiding us through every step of planning and answering all our questions, no matter how small or silly they sounded. They were so accommodating for all our and our guests needs, especially when we had some complex dietary requirements. Their organisation on the day was just flawless, we never felt one sense of stress and even if something hadn’t gone as we planned, we would never have known. They were really helpful when we arrived slightly earlier than planned and made sure we always had everything we needed. They even made sure to save us some canapés and drinks so we didn’t miss out! The venue is so stunning and the dressing room is a fantastic size for our whole bridal party. The food was delicious and all the staff were superb. We had a truly unforgettable day and couldn’t recommend this venue more!
