This elegant and stylish wedding venue has been home to the Devonshire family for nearly five centuries. Carefully restored and maintained by the family, Chatsworth House enjoys plenty of history and character to wow your family and friends.

Chatsworth House is also home to one of Europe's most significant private art collections, making it a true landmark destination, and a very special place to hold a civil wedding ceremony or wedding reception.

The Chatsworth estate comprises of a Grade-I listed house and characterful stable buildings - perfect for functions and special events. The house gives way to the impressive 105 acre garden which sits within the sprawling 1,822 acre park, complete with magnificent views of the Peak District and beyond.

Weddings and events are held in the beautifully restored, 18th century stable buildings, which can be configured and designed to carefully meet your needs. The limestone walls and high arched ceilings of The Carriage House make a wonderful backdrop for wedding photos too.

The skillful events team are on hand to help you organise every detail of your wedding, from elegant champagne receptions to the perfect locally sourced menu for your guests, nothing is too much trouble for the experienced team at Chatsworth House.

The Carriage House is set within our Grade I listed Stables, designed in 1758 by James Paine. With limestone walls and archways, a high ceiling and roof lanterns, it is an architecturally interesting and atmospheric setting for a memorable wedding ceremony and reception. To the side is a conservatory, with a bar and courtyard, in which to stage your champagne reception. This private space allows you and your guests direct access to our historic 105-acre garden, a spectacular backdrop for photographs of the special occasion. A three-course wedding breakfast will be prepared by our chefs using locally sourced seasonal ingredients and paired with a Burlington wine, followed by a champagne toast. Tuck into a hearty Ploughman’s buffet in the evening while you celebrate. Available: April – December from 4 pm-12.30 am Occupancy: 120 (ceremony), 200 (reception)

The Cavendish Suite

A winter wedding in the Cavendish Suite Our Cavendish Suite, in the 18th-century Stables, comprises the elegant Cavendish Restaurant and the Hartington and Burlington Rooms. Intimate and inviting, they’re the perfect combination of spaces for an all-inclusive winter wedding. The ceremony will take place in the Hartington Room. The bridal bouquet, buttonholes and a floral room display will be provided by the Chatsworth Floristry team using seasonal blooms grown in the cutting garden. After, your guests can enjoy champagne and canapes while our photographer escorts you to handpicked locations in our spectacular parkland to capture your official wedding photographs. A three-course wedding breakfast will be served in the Burlington Room, prepared by our chefs using seasonal produce sourced from the estate and trusted local makers and paired with an Earl of Burlington wine. After a prosecco toast, your party will continue in the Cavendish Restaurant with our resident DJ. A light evening buffet will be served. You’ll have the benefit of a wedding planner throughout the planning and staging of your wedding, and a Master of Ceremonies will help ensure the day runs smoothly. Available: January – March from 12pm – midnight. Price: £12,500 based on 50 guests* All-inclusive: venue hire, access to the parkland for photographs, our photographer, our DJ, floral arrangements (bridal bouquet, 4 buttonholes, 4 table centres, 1 long and low arrangement), champagne and canape drinks reception, three-course wedding breakfast and half a bottle of Burlington wine per guest, prosecco toast, evening buffet, white table linen, crockery, cutlery and glassware and a silver cake stand and knife. The services of a wedding planner and Master of Ceremonies are also included. *Additional guests: An additional six guests can be accommodated at the wedding ceremony, breakfast and reception at £120 per person. The evening reception can accommodate up to 100 guests in total. An additional charge would be required for the buffet for evening-only guests, please ask for more information.

Located within our 18th-century Stables, this atmospheric venue is available for your exclusive use from 6 pm until midnight. Lodge Hill will allow you to make a grand entrance through the Stables courtyard, and the Stables and surrounding parkland will provide a spectacular backdrop for any official photography of the occasion. Your choice from our selected local catering teams will have full access to our professional Carriage House kitchen, high-quality tables and chairs for up to 130 guests will be available and a dedicated event supervisor will liaise with your event suppliers on the day. Chatsworth House is an amazing venue. We go there several times a year, all towards round. When we decided to have our special day there we were introduced to Emma and Jess the weddings team. Jess has been absolutely amazing, our wedding is slightly different to most weddings as I can’t physically have an all day wedding as my illnesses make it impossible for an all day wedding. We can’t have a full wedding breakfast and a evening reception as I would be very poorly and in bed for days on end after it. So Jess had adapted my wedding day to a day that I can enjoy and remember for all my life
