Looking directly onto King’s Cross station, the Great Northern Hotel first opened its doors to weary travellers in the age of the steam engine. Reopened in 2013 after a £40m refurb, Lewis Cubitt’s paean to Victorian hospitality is now just moments from the Eurostar terminus at St Pancras. Across its six floors there are 91 bedrooms and a bundle of options for Christmas party bookers. Chef Mark Sargeant has put together a series of festive menus to be served to up to 120 guests in Plum + Spilt Milk. Canapés – a choice of six per person, or more on request – are available for groups of at least 10. Bowl food is a further option, and then there are the festive cocktails to be supped in the GNH Bar.
