Turtle Bay Nottingham brings some serious Caribbean energy to Nottingham city centre, with a space that’s lively in design and atmosphere. This is the place to come when you don’t want anything complicated and want some nice food, lots of cocktails and some fun. Located right in the centre of Nottingham, from the outside Turtle Bay looks much like any other polished chain, on the inside however it’s filled with wacky furniture, art and colours that make it difficult for you to feel anything other than energetic. A central bar exudes the sound of cocktail shakers and the open-front kitchen reveals the chefs as they cook soul food on a large open pit… not your ordinary high street operation.
The all-day menu offers a range of breakfast and brunch items with a Caribbean twist - the Kingston Grill down, with curried chickpeas and jerk bacon, is a worthy contender to the full English. The main menu offers lots of options, all with a soul food edge, ranging from curried goat hash to jerk sirloin steak as well as burgers, buddha bowls and rotis filled with jerk chicken. The drinks menu focuses, unsurprisingly, on cocktails and rums (although there is everything else you might expect) and with a selection of close to 20 rums you can really get stuck in. Cocktails match the environment, some are classic like the Mojitos, and others have a twist, like its Koko Kolada. If you’re there for the drinks, the menu has a wide range of small plates that will work perfectly, think crispy chilli squid.
Turtle Bay Nottingham has happy hours every day of the week and most notably has a generous bottomless brunch offering every day which sees your whole table enjoying two hours of bottomless cocktails, mocktails, beer or Prosecco as well one of the tasty offerings from the brunch menu. This is the place to go when you want some real energy.
