Tigermilk on Charing Cross Road brings high-energy Latin American dining to the heart of London. The food avoids pastiche, instead offering dishes that are colourful, well-seasoned and made for sharing. Ingredients are thoughtfully sourced, including MSC-certified fish, free-range meat and fresh produce, all prepared with a focus on flavour over formality.
Highlights from the menu include cochinita pibil tacos, slow-cooked and rich with spice, and a striking dorade ceviche paired with strawberries for a hit of unexpected sweetness. A 12-hour agave-marinated T-bone steak arrives charred and tender from the grill, while a glazed lamb shoulder is designed for the table to share. There is also a tableside guacamole made to order, adding a little theatre to the experience.
Desserts are as indulgent as the mains, with a standout passionfruit tiramisu layered with cream and tropical sharpness, and a dulce de leche cheesecake that more than lives up to the hype. The interiors, designed by Studio Leche in collaboration with former Soho House designer Christie Ward, draw from the faded glamour of Cuernavaca’s grand old estates. White and red marble floors, mirrored ceilings, tropical plants and an open kitchen create a space that is dramatic but inviting, echoing the energy of the menu. It is a restaurant designed to be lively, sociable and slightly over the top in all the right ways.
Tigermilk is not trying to be traditional or authentic. Instead, it leans fully into celebration, offering a big-hearted, good-value take on Latin dining that feels right at home in central London.
