This family-run bistro is found among the small independents for which Cannonmills is known and is just a five minute stroll from Edinburgh's gorgeous Botanic Gardens. The décor is cute and quirky, while a view of the river adds further to the bistro’s good looks.
Open all day, the menu kicks off with breakfast dishes such as a full Scottish (veggie option available), breakfast rolls and a selection of assorted pastries. The evening menu changes with the seasons, but dishes you might find include the likes of a pork and chorizo burger, or smoked haddock and salmon fish cakes with tartar sauce, while there’s a daily specials board to take advantage of too.
If you’re with the family, a handy children’s menu will keep the kids happy via chicken goujons, pasta and homemade fish fingers. Kiddies can wash it all down with smoothies or glasses of milk, while grown-ups can opt for by-the-glass wines and bottles of prosecco.
